South Korea calls for more impromptu talks with North Korea as the U.S. prepares for a summit

Seoul (News Service) – The President of South Korea Moon Jae announced on Monday that there is space for an improvised conversation and summit between the two nations. North Korean leader Kim Jong and the U.S President are all set to execute a never before summit.

“What’s more important than anything from the latest inter-Korean summit was that the leaders easily got in contact, easily made an appointment and easily met to discuss urgent matters, without complicated procedures and formalities, just like a casual meeting,”- said the South Korean President in a meeting with the senior secretaries.

Kim Jong UN and Moon agreed upon a surprise meeting that was set up at the border village of Panmunjom. In the meeting, it was decided that a North Korea-US summit is a much obligatory factor.

Last week the U.S President Donald Trump has withdrawn out of the meeting with Kim which was planned to be held on June 12 in Singapore. However, he pulled out without the notice of the reconsideration and the duo was meeting in order to execute the details.

A meeting was held between the U.S State Department and the North Korean officials on Sunday. The venue was an unarmed zone running along the armed border of the North and South Korea.

The white house said that a “pre-advance” team of U.S officials who were traveling to Singapore to meet the North Koreans.

“It’s a good thing to have him onboard,” said a former senior South Korean official who worked with Sung Kim in past. “He’s capable, level-headed, cautious, and has a solid grasp of the issues and knows North Koreans well. But at the same time, he has a healthy scepticism.”- said a US official that the former American ambassador in South Korea took care of the delegation.
