US Mid-term Elections: Gay man elected as the Governor in the United Stated

On Tuesday, Democratic Congressmen Jared Polis has won the Governor reservation in Colorado of the United States reports source. Mr. Polis will be the first openly gay man to be elected as the governor in the US.

43-years old Jared Polis is the five-term Congressmen. Mr. Polis won the seat by defeating Republican Walker Stapleton, who was open regarding his sexual orientation during the election campaign, often referred him in his criticism of US President Donald Trump.

In 2015, Kate Brown became the first bisexual governor in Oregon, while another governor, New Jersey’s Jim McGreevey came out as gay ahead of his resignation in 2004.

However, Polis is the first openly gay governor to get elected by the citizen of United States.

Jared Polis will succeed Democrat John Hickenlooper, who has been in power since 2011.

A self-made Tech entrepreneur and Millionaire, Polis was admitted at the age of 16 to Princeton and claims that he has set his sights on becoming governor of a state in the country when he was in college.

He is a Jewish, has altered his name from Jared Schultz to Jared Polis at the age of 25-years to show respect to his grandmother, said the first openly gay governor.
